support might agree, but I doubt the sales department would

anyway, you actually agreed that you think the instruments could be cheaper, and I already said I'm not talking about Live's features - so who are you arguing with?? 8O

I personally couldn't care less if the instruments were cheaper, as long as it doesn't affect Live's continued development as a live performance instrument.

If the instruments can still be cheaper, that's great for those who want them.

What does that have to do with anything? We're selling stuff so we can compensate for the time we don't work when we're giving stuff away.
If you think that what the Covert Operators do is for the money, you haven't been paying attention. Which would be kind of a shame figuring your almighty presence here.

Cheaper isn't always better. This goes for quality content as much as it goes for quality software.
I'm pretty sure this forum hold more people who switched from xxx to Live then we'll see people moving from Live to Logic.
You say giving away add-ons would draw new users, it would also piss off the users who actually supported development for the add-ons.

We both disagree on what will happen and neither of us are marketing experts. However, I do believe that a user who bought Live and supported Ableton should be the focus. Not newcomers (new money).
Yes, I do a lot of stuff for newcomers. No, they are no the target audience of the Covert Operators. Our target audience are Live users who are comfortable with Live and want to explore it deeper.

You say "Cheaper = Better". I ask "why?".

I think you should start a mac vs pc thread. Been a while since we saw one. Lets see how many people that called us zealots have switched in the meantime..

I'd like to see that, too... along with continued development of Live as a performing tool (the 'Live' word in 'Ableton Live')...
