He said, "In Iran we don't have homosexuals like in your country."

He salso said the Holocaust was "a myth" last year sometime... or was there a spin on that, too?
that was spin too.
He held a major conference and invited big-name nutjobs from different countries to discuss whether or not it actually happened. David Duke was there! Hard to spin that.

Maybe he could pop on over to the Holocaust Memorial Museum in DC while he's here, if he's really interested in finding out the truth.

President Bollinger of Columbia U. when introducing him:
In a December 2005 state television broadcast, you described the Holocaust as the fabricated legend. One year later, you held a two-day conference of Holocaust deniers.
Bollinger said that might fool the illiterate and ignorant.
"When you come to a place like this, it makes you simply ridiculous. The truth is that the Holocaust is the most documented event in human history."
Ahmadinejad denied he had questioned the existence of the Holocaust.
"You are either brazenly provocative or astonishingly uneducated."

I'm guessing he's both.

(to be honest, I couldn't decide if Bollinger was being rude and unprofessional or if he was doing his duty as a scholar and presenting the blatant truth.)

Ahmadinejad replied to Bollinger's comments saying:
"Don't tase me bro!"

i just watched this guy on charley rose. i wonder if anyone else sees a resemblence of our own president(bush). he has a simple fundamentalist point of view. he says zionist, bush says terrorist. like all people who want a jewish state are zionist, all people who want the u.s out of the middle east are terrorists. i swear they are in league together on this shit.
what a load.
listening to either of them just pisses me off...and they both smile as they lie.

fucksake get over it. there's many countries in the world where homosexuals are not welcomed, Jamaica, most of Africa, some places in Asia. But I suppose that's not important to your witch hunt. There generally is less gays in middle eastern countries compared to western nations. But that must mean that he wants to burn them all, of course

he questioned the numbers that people spit out with regards to the holocaust and suggested that the government running israel can not exist in the same way the USSR could not maintain itself.

if you stopped listening to murdoch and do stuff like read transcripts yourself you may not be such sheep.

sorry to offend, but i was born in iran.

Well spotted.

The similarities actually go a lot further than this. He's got a very similar folksy sort of a rhetoric, that same type of plain simple man image that Bush does, and like all Iranian presidents he's a bit of a meat puppet for the more powerful (I'll let you decide whether that goes for Bush as well)... I think a lecturer of mine wrote something more in depth on it.

i dont believe a thing my government says, including the lies it's propaganda ministry(fox news) spread...neither do i believe ahmadinejad's zionist generalizations.
i really dont believe he gives a shit about the palestinians, as much as i believed g.w when he said he was trying to liberate iraq. i trust no one.

Anyone who calls Ahmadinejad a dictator is either an idiot or has ambitions to become one himself.

The president of Iran is democratically elected from a group of people approved by the so-called Council of Guardians, that is, a council of clerics. This council may well be termed a dictatorship, an oligarchy, and Iran certainly is very, very far from being a free, open democracy, both in theory and in practice - but to call the president a dictator is utterly retarded, and to make Iran out to be a dictatorship like Iraq is the 'four legs good, two legs baaaaad' of 2007.

I'm quite sure that's not true.

what if Meef Chaloin wrote:There are generally fewer *openly* gay people in middle eastern countries compared to western nations. :
Would that work for you?

+1

...like in your country

as in we don't have prime time shows dedicated to homosexuality

nor do we have circuit music

Capitol Hills (Seattle gay neighborhood)

San Fransisco's

Bath Houses

etc

I have no doubt there's gay people in Iran, but there's no gay people in Iran like in our country - that's for sure

He's not the first person to openly express the idea that the holocaust didn't happen...so what's the big deal there? A lot of countries believe a lot of mis-truths - look at the United States (doh)

it was dumb of him to agree to be questioned at Columbia - or better yet it was an ambush by the Columbia U president who should have let his intentions be known

maybe he is a bad guy, so is Michael Vick and George Bush - there's bad people in the world...easy

None of the Middle Eastern leaders give a shit about the Palestinians. That's why middle eastern governments have been pushing the Palestinians out of their own countries for the last 50 yrs (ex. Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, etc.). They just use the "Palestinian question" as a propaganda method to divert their own citizens' attention away from their own countries' injustices and repression. Why some Western sympathizers listen to these asshole politicians and their blatantly hypocritical lies about the Palestinian people is always beyond me.

And I really can't believe people on here don't understand why there aren't gay clubs, bath houses, and openly gay persons in Iran. I'm pretty sure it's not because there isn't any gays there. Unless you subscribe to the "homosexuality is a choice" theory.
