Weird playback issues in 6LE

Post by Inaki » Wed Sep 26, 2007 2:20 am

I want to use Ableton for my sets, and can either do that by putting different songs in different scenes or by dragging them into the Arrangement section.

Now...if I do the scenes, no matter which song i press Play in, they all start playing! in the Arrangement section, I can't get any audio out.

Any ideas? I'm using a MacBook Pro with OSX Tiger.

Thanks

Hi,

A scene, if launched, will play whichever clips are on that row. Now about Arrangement, if you played Session view clips (by playing the scene for example), the Session view has the "priority". There's a button on the transport bar that turns red as soon as you play Session view material. It's called "back to arrangement". Click is so it's not red anymore, and you can play your arrangement.

Well but how come if I put different clips on different rows and I press the Play button on the first column's clip, the one on the second colunm, second row start playing also.

It doesn't happen the first time I do it, or, funny enough, if I press the "back to arrangements" button before I press play. Bu if I press play on both and then stop it, once I press play on anyone they all start together =S

Thanks for the reply thogh =D

Hi,

When some clips are playing, and you stop Live with the space bar or the global stop button, the clips are still in "play" mode, as you can see, there little arrow is still green. So, you either have to press "back to arrangement", or "stop all clips" at the bottom of the scene list on the Master track, or make sure the empty cells contain a"stop" button, as described on page 88, chapter 7.4.2 of the Live 6 manual.
