Live 2.1.1 is out!

Hi folks,

like already announced the latest version 2.1.1 is now available at the download section of our website.

This version fixes the 30min runtime limitation problem under ReWire slave and also the problem that some OS X user experienced where MakeAlias crashed after the Live's ReWire installation.

For all user want to know about the changes from Live 2.0.3 to Live 2.1.1, please read my initial postings in this threads:

I personally wouldn't be very proud of distributing yet another release that ought to be considered pre 1.0 beta code.

Sorry Ableton but your product sucks. It's an absolute CPU/resource hog, not to mention plugin compatibility is iffy and random at best - regardless of platform. I've put considerable time in testing each release since ~1.0 thinking it to be a very promising product, and someday it may be.

But until you get the basics in performance and compatibility taken care of, it's Cubase & Logic to rule the roost.

Personally, I think your attitude sucks.

Your spew could have been constructive if you posted some details re: which plug-ins you've had problems with so perhaps the developers can determine whether it's an issue they are responsible for, and can fix.

I've not found plug-in support to be "iffy and random", any more than any spottily written plug-in will sh*t all over Logic.

I've been using Logic since version 1.7, now using 6 Platinum. In my professional opinion Live 2.1.1 is a tremendous toolset that affords me huge gains both in production ease and creative options.

Live, and in my space Emagic's Logic and U&I's MetaSynth, are powerful beyond imagining when used with focus, patience and skill.

Too bad you can't purchase any of those three.

Yes, thank you Ableton for creating such a wonderful tool. If you can't make music and be inspired to make music with this then you're just not trying. Kudos to Ableton. I look forward to the future versions of Live while enjoying the present.

We too want to add our thanks to Ableton. Without Live I could've never imagined how to get our music out of the studio onto the stage. With each release it gives us more possibilities and flexibilities.

Personally I can't wait until the Version 3 release and the OSX Panther release which will speed up performance even more.

Thanks Ableton, you are the heart of our show.

I can't even begin to comprehend the number of hours I have spent trying to take studio material and make it usable on stage. No more writing Acid to MIDI converters for me.

Whatever version of Cubase you're using I find it hard to believe you're coming here and using it as an example of the stability/efficiency that Live is lacking....hahahahaha, you're joking, surely!? If you've used Cubase at all beyond simply installing it, you'd KNOW it's full of holes and bugs, talk about unfinished...hahaha, go and check the Steinberg forums. Oh and not to mention the 'support'.....been a 'core user for many years so believe me I know....ahhhhhh, don't know what else to say really, just made me laugh to see someone using Cubase for such an example.
Come on djhoki, tell us what plugs are 'iffy and random at best', what platform/version you on? Give us some meat to get our teeth into before you start your adolescent bleating, pleeeeeease
