Open Sound Control Support
id est
the possibility to control all parameters of live in an expressive way (Open Sound Control isn't constricted in 10 bit resolution like midi is) through a network of computers (i think at the fun to experiment with artificial intelligence or genetic algoritms)
the ability of syncing two laptops using live or other programs that support OSC (for example Reaktor MAX/MSP jMAX PureData SuperCollider, but the range of possibilities is not limited in audio software, there are some video software in development status that support OSC see http://veejay.sourceforge.net/ ) without the use of a midi interface and without the use of cables in case those computers have a wireless card
a program like live supporting OSC would be the new frontier of live performance. since live is no more - and not only - a DJing tool but a real time music production environment, i think it is the feature that is needed to make it reach a higher level. it would be the ultimate tool for people experimenting with extreme live performance and real-time sound design

Wait for note/key Record Mode
Would like to have a "Wait for key/note" Record Mode in MIDI and a better sync when slaved in MIDI Clock !
Transpose function for multiple tracks..
When syncing to a DJ, it would be really nice to be able to instantly transpose ALL midi clips the same amount, to sync quicker (a la Yamaha RS7000).
Being able to assign one midi knob to SEVERAL midi Pitch effects would make this possible.[/b]

MIDI MAPPABLE DELETE KEY, to delete flubbed clips you are recording live on the fly in performance. If you are using guitar or bass or other two-handed instrument and using Live to loop, you either have to play each loop perfectly, or use a workaround with bomes/yoke or midipipe on mac to get a delete foot pedal. Otherwise, if you mess up, you either have to loop your flawed clip, or stop playing to use the mouse and keyboard to delete. C'mon Abs, it can't be that hard.

Since LIVE 4 is a live performance tool, I think the most important missing feature that would really help flow on stage, is:
Playlist (Song list, etc....)
That way we could map a MIDI key to load the next song.

dual screen mode
maybe it's not so important for the most of you,
but I'd love to have a dual screen view for session(mixer) and arrangement.. ok the values of volume etc can be changed inside the arrange window, but it would be cooler to unlock the windows from each other (same w/midi-editor etc..)
in reason they implemented the "unlock seq from rack"-thing
what about live??
BUT also without this feature live is the best music software ever written..
in every way.
THANKS ABLETON

Re: dual screen mode
I'm very confused by this desire several folks have asked for it but the way Live functions changes made in arrangement are not reflected in Seesion (and I thought vise versa) so whats the benefit....?Anonymous wrote:maybe it's not so important for the most of you,

Expanded key assignments (hotkeys) !!!
Why oh why must Ableton torture us so? We are on version 4 now and I still can't use the alt or ctl keys to expand my hotkey options. Nor can I use the number keys. I've already posted a workaround for users of the mac and how to get more useage out of "full keyboard access", but if your a PC user, your still up the proverbial creek without a paddle. Come on Ableton!

Re: dual screen mode
Dual screen could be very useful. Not only for seeing session and arrangement view at the same time. The solution could be having 2 windows, 1 for each monitor, where you are seeing the same document but you can show-unshow the desired views (browser, clip, routing, etc) independently in each monitor. It makes any sense?loophead wrote: I'm very confused by this desire several folks have asked for it but the way Live functions changes made in arrangement are not reflected in Seesion (and I thought vise versa) so whats the benefit....?
