Howdy guys/gals,
If you haven't heard the duo Digitalism, it's pretty kickin'. I was wondering, how can I achieve a sound like theirs?
I read somewhere they use 303 plugins? Any examples, or help in this? I'd prefer not to spend money getting there, but i want to know how to get those gritty bassy synth sounds.

In software only? Probably quite hard. Just from glancing at that kit list it´s obvious that they are using some really hardcore old-school analog gear, and although they probably sequence it in software judging from those MIDI/CV converters, the audio itself is being piped from the formidable Korg synths and the 303 through an analog mixer(and the filter modules to boot probaby!) before being recorded....and no amount of analog modelling can match that kind of phatness....there are some awesome programs out there, but IMO a lot of the awesomeness of recent electro/house stuff like Justice and Digitalism comes from serious, serious abuse of analog signal paths....to the point where abuse probably segues seamlessly into out-and-out molestation.Grahambo! wrote:Cool. Thanks man.
But from experience, or from just listening to a few of their songs, can anyone give me an easy way to achieve...say.... the bass sounds in "Idealistic" ??
