Ableton & Firewire Audiophile problem.

Post by Guest » Sat Jul 17, 2004 3:41 pm

Hello All,

Help needed. I just installed a new Firewire Audiophile and tried it in Cubase and it works fine. It works ok with the standalone Pro 53 but in Ableton I only have to move a fader, either with a mouse or an assigned knob or slider (UC33e over midi), and the CPU goes off the dial and shows over 1000 % CPU. not 100%.

Any Ideas?
Ableton 3.04
XP , P4 Advent 7012 Laptop 2.6, 512 ram etc

I've installed the newest drivers for the Audiophile. I should add that I previously had a stable set up with a USB Quattro which I sold for an Ozone (to be more mobile) and the Ozone never worked properly.M-Audio Tech support have been of little help so I bought the Audiophile - thinking it was USB/ bandwidth causing the issue.
I've been through all the FAQ's on both sites, manuals etc. but no joy.

I'm posting here in case anyone else in the Ableton forum has had a similar conflict with the Firewire Audiophile & Ableton.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

B

Problem solved.
Just in case anyone encounters a similar problem...in Ableton preferences set the midi out to none.
