128 midi parameters - Please make this a sticky and VOTE

Post by Fantismo » Sun Oct 07, 2007 2:27 pm

Please please please Ableton!

if we must be limited to 128 parameters give us the function to choose the parameters we want to control. e.g Rob Papen Albino 3 uses over 500..

PLEASE!!! :)

agreed, this feels more like a bug fix rather than a feature add ... i mean, you can't even undo stuff on those parameters above the 128 first ...

please fix this in v7!

i don't have any use for this myself, but imo it seems ridiculous that live doesn't have the capability. so my vote is yes for >128.

I know you're in agreement, but ANYONE using VST and AU instruments must suffer this limitation. Not happy to see that this fix hasn't appeared in Live 7.

OK, I see where you're coming from, I guess.

128 is a multiple of 2, 2^7, which to me means it's packed into a byte and is hard coded into the automap code.

if a feature works the same as it did in Live 6 it's not a bug, this is an improvement.

how many people who posted in the thread have the beta? I know the OP doesn't.

This is the forum to report bugs in the Live 7 beta. You should post in the 'feature request' area. This thread will either be moved to there or deleted because it has no relation with the Live 7 beta.

see, that's the deal. this has been in the feature request thread for !@$! years. i don't know why ableton doesn't deal with this sort of thing just to shut people up.

yes, i'm beta testing. no, i don't need this 'feature' personally. yes, people who aren't beta testing shouldn't post here...but if they've been posting this as a feature request for years and it hasn't happened i can understand the frustration. please leave post policing to a mod who can simply delete or move the thread.

Well there's this, and there's the fact that you still can't create your own automaps, and the fact that you can't change the number of macros, and that's no real midi learn, and, oh yeah, the feature request of at least the last 6 years:

RECORD AUTOMATION TO SESSION

I think people are just kind of ticked off seeing new features when they see many import original ones as left kind of half-assed.

this is absolutely how I feel....

It IS a bug.. its such a poor limitation..

It has been requested for years - can you imagine how annoying that is?

Has anyone actually has Ableton answer this one? Are they sticking their fingers in their ears and going "la la la i cant hear you..."

?

i have written it in another thread.
i phones ableton and the friendly person told me that this is a very requested feature and there is a small possibility that this more then 128 parameters makes it still into the final version 7!!!
so make this thread a sticky.
this is indeed my most wanted "feature"

Hi,

I'm moving this thread to the Feature Wishlist section, as we're trying to collect bugs for the current features here.

I know you said "it's a bug", but still, it wears a wish outfit.
