i think what he is meaning is, if it's possible (and so easy) with an external device, why can a software solution not be so easy to implement??

I still think Ableton should implement this sort of function into the package, maybe in Live7???

did you get the software way working?

to me this would be the best solution as i am using a 2 channel mixer, 2 laptops and running serato on one and, ableton the other
.
i got about halfway through this the other night after many a beer and got the infamous blue screen. had to reload ableton all over.

i'm just looking ot hear someone had good results.
i wanna use this for firing loops and what not from abeton without a latency issue.

thanks

is there some special place we should insert the midiclock detect, or do you just open it alond with ableton?

i am really close to proving / disproving this theory.

i did use an eq 8 to get better pick up on the midi signal.

anyone having any luck with this method?

Just run the midi clock application..no need for inserting in any
special place..just make sure ur midi yoke inputs and outputs are
assigned as instructed..
KT Drummer does convert audio peaks to midi notes..
However I have tried this method and it works, however I tried it
till I went blue, but the master tempo does not stay constant
and it would jump from say 140 Bpm to 200 then fall to 110 etc..
So needles to day impossible to keep sync like this..
If anyone gets this method to work, I would love to find out..
Cheers

me too, same problem here. seems like riding the best answer would be the soundbite, but i have heard some mixed reviews, but none from anyone who owns one. :(
