adding an effect in OFF mode
adding an effect in OFF mode
hi,
there are multiple times where i have a clip running, and everything is good, but then, to mix things up, i think to myself "now lets add an effect"
the problem is that as soon as i add the effect, it turns on, and starts affecting the clip before im ready, most of the time not the way i want it to. then i have to endure a few moments of painful music while i set up the effect the way i want it to, and then things run smoothly again.
this happens multiple times in every session, and unfortunately, im not enough of a visionary to be able to think of every effect i might want to use before i start playing every clip.
so is there a way to drag in an effect into a playing clip with it starting out in OFF mode? that way i could edit it the way i want before i turn it on, and turn it on on beat, so that everything runs smoothly.
thanks!

Arranger view has this feature already.
You select the effect and there is a device ON/OFF clip which can easily be programmed to great effect in the Arranger .
I use this for kicking delays ,buffer overun effects etc in and out a specific sample points within loops etc in the arranger itself.
Personally though I prefer the arranger view .
You can cut and paste multiple clips/phrases turn looping on or off.
Have seperate transposition ,warp/grain types and the like per section of clip and so on and so forth ...
Pretty versatile IMHO .

My aren't the wings of butterflies beautiful and do they not make wonderful perturbations.....
Um - night be a bit obvious but no-one's mentioned it. I drop the effect(s) onto a totally empty mixer channel, get the settings right (or in your case turn it off) then drag & drop to the appropriate track.
