Recording problem, audio is choppy

Post by 12345 » Sun Oct 07, 2007 4:54 pm

I just got Ableton Live 6 and I'm having trouble recording.

I'm using a Motu Ultralite soundcard and I have it hooked up properly, when I record in Audacity and other programs the playback is fine.

When I arm an audio track in Ableton and record though, it sounds very choppy almost like a CD skipping. In the preferences the driver type is MME/DirectX, the input type is MOTU mix 1 Wave and the output is the Motu headphones.

In the arrangement view I have the audio track set to 'Ext. In', 1/2, off, and master.

If someone could help me that would be amazing. I'm pretty new to this and used to using Reason.

Is there a choice of ASIO drivers in the preferences? There must be. MME/DX is no good for audio.

thanks so much that solved the problem!!!! For some reason I thought asio wasn't the right driver. I guess cause MOTU asio didnt pop up when I selected it.
