I think you guys are funny sometimes definitely, but I agree with this.
I would have liked to chat with people online about the video interview, but the thread was highjacked. A new thread should have been linked to that one with your little Ableton story, but instead the thread is shot.

Those gifs rule tho! 8O

seriously though - is it really that hard to put it back on track? there have been no posts since then, you could always have made one that was on topic eh?

BTW I'm flattered to be included in all this, but that comedy gold was pure Neb.

We can try I guess, but is it even worth it? What does it matter if I post another one? Someone will clown on it and away we go. The only thing I personally don't like about no mods is the constant highjacking, but hey, you're right, we could just have multiple threads about the same subject, and people could wade through the off topic stuff to try and find the on topic one.....
Don't get me wrong I like the off topic stuff too, I just like to maybe balance it with on topic.
....but hey I'm no cop, do what you will, but don't expect people to always like it, or think it's funny. I post after work and all the time-killing-at-work-stuff in these forums is OK, and sometimes funny as hell, but yeah, it gets old in threads about things I'm interested in.

I knew this was gonna turn into a he-said-she-said. *sigh*

(I'm the "he" in this scenario, of course)

There are plenty of threads that can be serious, get funny, then get serious again. If you want it in a serious direction, just say so...even the class clowns will respect that, which is why this is a great forum. Humor and serious information are not mutually exclusive, and a mixture of both doesn't devalue either. I'd even venture to say that the mixture is often greater than sum of its parts.

There isn't anything else I can say about it...but I will add my response to the ALDJ thread that now is gone:

We can try that I guess, but I'm sure if I step in and say "hey guys, start another thread",(sort of the internet equivalent of "get a room!"), some new guy will come up and make an attempt to engage me in a pissing match in order to impress the natives.... basically if I have to ask, then people do the "internet cop" thing on you.
which is why this is a great forum. Humor and serious information are not mutually exclusive, and a mixture of both doesn't devalue either. I'd even venture to say that the mixture is often greater than sum of its parts.
I think in cases where the thread is highjacked straight away, the highjacking/humor etc. does devalue the ability to have any on-topic conversation, and the mixture is off. That's the main complaint I have. It's your prerogative to disagree, and I understand that it's basically Lord of the Flies here, but unregulated communities throughout history have also set up cohesive anarchist collectives.
If it makes any sense to you I guess in the future in order to not ruin the vibe, a PM to you or whoever starts going seriously off-topic in a thread I would like to have stay focused at least a little would be a solution. Though like I said, if you highjack a thread seriously and completely as the Ableton video interview, then you should in all respect to others link to a thread started to promote your latest comedy adventure mini series instead of just highjack.

I'll disagree about the "pissing match" and the "impress the natives" comments. I and others have turned many a thread around...case in point, the one you're reading.

As for a PM, that's always a good idea. I often advise people to at least ask for what they want, with polite assertion. Then if you don't get it, feel free to complain all you want. :) I would again venture to say that in this forum, we're far less about pissing contests and far more about having fun, and even then, never at the cost of disrespecting someone...or at least those d0uche_bags are not welcome in our fold.

Thanks again for the feedback. Here's your new serious thread.

They never have been or ever will be.

I find it hard that a so called "attorney" can come across as so unintelligent. But in the USA you in essence can graduate with a degree in virtually anything as long as you have enough money.

So even if Nebulae is an "attorney", it means nothing because to me he comes across as intellectually challenged. Not an admirable quality a lawyer should have, is it?

So basically anyone who doesn't agree with you and doesn't find your pathetic attempts at humour amusing is a douchebag.
Keaton always said, "I don't believe in God, but I'm afraid of him." Well I believe in God, and the only thing that scares me is Keyser Soze.
