Did you find the Axiom easy or difficult to hook up to your computer so that it actually controlled sound?

Making Axiom 49 make sound through Ableton Live lite

Post by Mick_Malkemus » Tue Oct 16, 2007 10:21 am

Hi Everyone. Can anyone solve this?

1) Axiom 49 registers on Windows XP
2) Ableton lite produces sound within itself
3) I followed the directions to interface Axiom with Ableton from the help lessons
4) When I listen to my headphones, no sound when I touch keys on the Axiom.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled all software. This hasn't helped.

Do I need to install a virtual instrument in Ableton live before I can use the Axiom to get sound?

Thanks from a newbie.

Mick

erm....yes....

The Axiom is merely a midi controller....it does not produce sounds on its own unfortunately...

Also remember that you have to arm the particular channel that the VSTi is on if you want the controller signal to control that VSTi....this can be done by just pressing the record button at the bottom of the channel...

Thanks Fly.

I downloaded MIDI OX, and found that the axiom is not being recognized by my computer.

I've written to M Audio support via the support form, and will update this post as to what they respond with.
