Look for it the same time it gets released on BeOS, AmigaOS and the ZX81.

I reckon it's a brilliant idea. Then I could run a decent OS on cheaper hardware instead of being forced to shell out for Macs... but I will not use Windows!

Linux != BSD. Porting difficulties would probably result for other reasons, however, as OS 9/X use their own audio hooks. And there exist very few plug-ins to extend functionality of Live (or any host for that matter) on the Linux platform...

Hopefully, this'll change.

all you need is to make live ladspa aware.
then one have tons of nice and speedy plugins.
even vst plugins finally work on linux.

Here is my vote for Live on Linux. I have bought the previous versions and yes I would buy this version. I would potentially pay more for a Linux version since it would eliminate my overhead on the price of an OS.

Ahhh to have a linux version :) I switched to mac because I couldn't stand working on windows anymore... a linux version would be even better... Its too bad the support for pro-level hardware is seriously lacking (RME/ICE support is good from what I remember)

linux is really crap for audio (at least for pro/semi stuff)
NONE of the pro/semi audiocards work with Linux, so why should a team develop audio software for a non audio platform ??

Live already runs on efficiently 3!!! platforms. Can you imagine the amount of R&D and efforts for Ableton team to achieve this ?

Better concentrate on improving the features/bugs than a useless port to another platform.

Oh yes, then I can run it on my Zaurus PDA ß this would be cool. A PDA version would be much more interesting.
