Clone or link clips,possible with any Live version?

Clone -or link or group whatever- a clip.
I mean to copy a clip and if i edit the new one the changes to affect the original and all of its copies/clones in the project.

Especially useful when you pre-made clips in the session view and copy them to the arrangement view and via versa.
I'm sure you know what i'm talking about, most sequencers have a link/unlink
option.
So the question is: is this possible with any Live version ? (including 7 betas)

Nope. No such thing in Live.

Thank you for the very quick replay.

Is it me that found this very useful ?
I needed to remix a track recently and because i wanted to experiment first, i ended up with many different versions of clips, slowing down my workflow, at my best moment (my peak of creativity...)

Is it ever posted in the wishes..? or better maybe it is still room for this in v7
final... just a hint !

yeah i also find this very useful in other tools and it's been brought up a few times here (have a search for alias or ghost clips). there was a response from ableton acknowledging this, so hopefully we'll see it sometime soon.

hopefully they can come up with a way to use this feature between session and arrange clips - that would be a great improvement to the workflow.

I see now it is requested by may, and for a long time....
Live7 is a good opportunity for this, i hope Ableton is listening ...!!!

does anyone know if it's now possible in Live 8 ?

I only want to link clips in arrangement view. Somestimes I have a clip that a use many times in a song and a don't want to have to modify each instance everytime I make a modification.

its' still not possible..
the workaround is to work on the original sample (destructively)
it will change in all the groups which are using this sample

but.. manually duplicating seems like a better way for now..
