Hi there,
I have a question regarding volume levels. Here is my setup:
Ableton Live 6
Korg ZERO4 Mixer
A FireWire cable
So... I use the ZERO4 as my soundcard. I send Live channels 1, 2, and 3 out stereo to the mixer. From the mixer, I send the master channel out to Live's channel 4. This is where I have the recording going on. Basically, I'm sending the audio out to the mixer and then back into Live to be recorded.
Here is the problem that I'm having, though. The volume level is really low. It is being controlled by the master volume knob on the mixer, which I have opened up all the way. It seems to be about half of what it should be (the levels look fine on the mixer's LED's, but Live catches the signal at around -15dB).
Now, this isn't a terrible problem. I attribute it somewhat to my mixer having a lot of "headroom" so you can overdrive the channels without them clipping (since it is a digital mixer). And I can always normalize the tracks easily, since it's all digital, without any distortion. I guess I'm more or less just wondering if anyone knows of some stupid setting I'm missing somewhere.
Any help at all is much appreciated!
Michael
