[OT] California is Burning!
Anyone have any first hand accounts of the fires? I guess you wouldn't be in front of computer now if you had to leave.
What if Hollywood burns down? What would happen to America then?

If Hollywood burns down, America might be better off.

Hollywood is pretty slummy. Think of how many people move there to "make it" and never do. West Hollywood is gayer than any part of San Francisco I have ever seen and it's a creepy kind of gay. Picture men jogging down the city street in short shorts, sweatshirts, and leg warmers, and all night coffee shops filled with nothing but groups of men and young boys in their early teens.

I live in University Heights, right near downtown San Diego and its quite a mess here in So Cal. There are more than a few direct acquaintances of mine that have lost their homes. I feel so sorry for them, especially my best friend, who still doesnt know how his home fared... he had so much invested in his wood-shop there (he is a very well known local artisan).
Still a week to go, they say too! Man, this is crazy.

It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.
