can you help the new idiot?

Post by scja » Fri Oct 26, 2007 4:32 pm

Hi i'm still on live 5, but love it. I'm currently trying to use an M-Audio Radium 49 midi controller to manipulate my waldorf pulse, but can't work out how to map out ableton!?
any ideas anyone?
i just want to control and record things like cutoff and resonance as midi data...

thanks

The knobs on your radium have to transmit MIDI CC messages of the numbers that correspond to cutoff or resonance on your Waldorf (look in waldorf manual to find out which CC numberss control these parameters).

(unlike Live's MIDI Map function, I bet the Pulse has fixed values... something like resonance for FIlter 1 is MIDI CC #40, cutoff for filter 1 is CC #41, etc...)

Then you just set up a MIDI channel in Live, with the radium as the input, and the Waldorf as the output (both set to send/receive the same MIDI channel number) and enable record.

cool thanks, i'm just really struggling to enable the faders on my keyboard. i know all the controller assignments from the pulse, just can't map it.
i guess its an m-audio issue, their enigma software isn't supported by my radium and apple's AU MIDI manager wont let me edit the properties of the midi controller because it says it can't on driver created devices... blah

i'm sure theres a very simple explaination to an over-complecated question!

thanks laird
