MIDI clock out multiple MIDI ports
MIDI clock out multiple MIDI ports
With so many devices (Effects, Keyboards, Drum machines) that trigger off of MIDI clocks, it would be very helpful if you could choose which MIDI ports MIDI Clock is transmitted on.
MacBook Pro (MacOS 13.0.1) i9 Processor, 32gb RAM, 4tb SSD
(STUDIO I/O) MOTU UltraLite mk5 (w/ADA8200), (LIVE I/O) Behringer X Air XR18
Ableton Live Suite 11 (Live performances), Studio One 5 (Studio Stem Creation)

Ableton Live Suite 11 (Live performances), Studio One 5 (Studio Stem Creation)
This seems very easy to do internally in LIVE. Simply add another MIDI OUT chooser like where you choose which MIDI OUTS are active. Yet, this one would toggle which OUT ports get MIDI Clock information.

I remember in one DAW companies manual, something about writing MIDI clock simultaneously to multiple ports could lead to latency in some ports. Some drivers include a "write to all port" option for their sync. I'm not sure how this works, but this would be the optimal solution.
I'm not 100% sure on this, but it is a fuzzy memory.

As long as you're not jamming a bunch of MIDI through the MIDI ports, and the MIDI clock is important, maybe the user should at least have the option of sending MIDI on multiple ports or not.
