assigning keyboard keys to fire clips

Post by slatepipe » Tue Oct 30, 2007 5:17 pm

hi

i know im probably being really thick here as i know ive done this before and it seemed very straightforward but how do you assign a keyboard key to fire a clip? ive clicked on the key button (top right) to make all assignable items orange, clicked on a clip to highlight it, pressed key 'a' then gone back to normal mode. now when i press key 'a' i would expect it to fire the clip but it just makes the key symbol go orange for an instant.

i have the manual open in front of me as i am doing this and i have also tried all the types of clip fire mode.

has my head gone all cloudy ?

can someone point out my error?

Make sure the 'Computer MIDI Keyboard' option is turned off - otherwise, your 'a' key is sending a midi note.

Three ways to accomplish:

1) CTRL-Shift-K on Windows

2) Via the Option Menu

3) Clicking the little keyboard button just to the left of 'Key Map' button
