Broadcasting over the internet with ableton live

Post by stevenb123 » Thu Oct 18, 2007 11:43 pm

I am currently trying to set up to broadcast live over the internet. I am aware of plugins which are available to let me do this, however, the one in question, shoutcast, will not pick up abletons output. I wanna know has anyone else tried this? if you have how did you get on? Also, im running an Emu 1616 digital cardbus with ableton. Even if you know of any good online broadcasting tools let me know. Cheers

there are many ways to do this. the easiest would be Nicecast. it's a really simple to use desktop app that will take the audio from whatever app(s) you tell it to and publish a live stream on the web. it also has a nice console for adding fx etc.

you could also use Quicktime Broadcaster, it's free but requires a little more technical know how.

and if you're on Windows; no idea, sorry.

The same problem....don't know that to Do :(((

May be there is some way to route music: soundcard input - ablton - winamp DSP plugin - shoutcast server???

through the input i send the sound from my turntables..to add effects with ableton...

Thank U

open your audio volume properties in windows
choose for the option to change "recording" levels
enable the "stereo mix" channel if it is not there by default
increase the volume of that stereo mix channel and that
will be the internal mixed signal which comes from ableton
or any other audio application.

with other words - "stereo mix"will enable internal audio
to act as "ext in" input

have phun :)

There are only two string to be chosen in winamp DSP
1. Soundcard input
2. Winamp itseft

I think there is can be the way to choose WinAmp itself and somehow point winamp to recieve the internal signal from Stereo Mix...

As i think the chain will be (in my setuation): Turntables(to stereo input) - ableton live (from input to master) - DSP plugin (take internal stream) - shoutcast server....
i don't know, may be this is imposible...the main problem is to make Winamp take internal stream of audio...

set it to "winamp", as said.
it should pick up automatically the signal from "stereo mix"

Someone please do a VST version of the shoutcast DSP plug.

I'm no expert, but if this can be done http://www.t-u-b-e.de/iplug.htm
a shoutcast vst seems possible.
