.. latency

Post by jmolenaar » Wed Oct 31, 2007 1:14 pm

Hi, I have a question.

I'm running Live on a 2,16 Hgz, 2 GB iMac. (Enough GB's i think?)

I also want to play realtime guitar just like him: http://www.ableton.com/_common/download ... ar_one.mpg

I tried to set up my iMac right, 256 Buffer Size, Error Compensation: o ms etc

I still have some latency, not a lot.

BUT:

Is it possible that i get rid of the latency if i use something like a TonePort or a M-Audio Fast Track USB ???

Grtz

I use a firewire edriol card with only 1gb of ram and can record with real time effects .

so yes a good card will make a difference

you'll never get 0 latency, but a good sound card should help a lot.

firewire is *usually* better than usb, if you have a choice of the two.
