Oh yay, a free copy of Live Lite 4!
I got an Oxygen 61 today because I wanted the octaves. Packaged along with the keyboard is a copy of Live Lite 4. That's right. 4. I don't know what the shelf life is on keyboards but does this mean the thing has been sitting on the shelf for like 3 years?
Live Lite 4 is still bundled with everything. It's like the AOL CD of music hardware purchases.

On a more upsetting note, the keyboard was used when I supposedly bought a new one. And I'm talking used to the point that there is dust/dirt on the keys and even what appears to be a ring from where somebody placed a glass. I guess somebody returned it and they just sealed it and put it back on the shelf. Guess what great music store chain I got it from.
You guys realise it's a free upgrade to Live Lite 6 from Live Lite 4 right?

It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

We have a similar problem here with a couple of chains of shops/dealers. Theres a particular mail order firm that will always say they have something in stock just to get your purchase, another is a music shop - mostly guitars - whereby its packed out with customers and you can never get served, not because the staff are busy but because they employ kids who're too busy talking about their social life.thumperjack wrote:fuck guitarcenter. i remember a time when you went into a music shop and were greeted by fellow musicians. now you go into guitar center and have to fight off the fucking vultures. recently i was looking at buying a used padKontrol from the Baton Rouge location, and the fucker has the gall to tell me "oh, we can't sell you a used one when we have new ones in stock."beats me wrote:Isn't it scary how easy that was to determine.Librado wrote:was it guitarcenter?![]()

ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THEIR FUCKING SALE. customer service is a thing of the past.
now i go to guitar center to get their equipment dirty before i buy it online from musicians friend. HAHAHA fuckers.
Needless to say they dont get my money.
Hate to tell you this but Guitar Center and Musicians Friend are related. So I usually go with zzounds.com, audiomidi.com, or novamusik.com instead. Sometimes I don't wan to wait for something to ship and Guitar Center is only like 2 minutes away from me and most other music stores in the area don't have a large selection of computer based music equipment or software. I find that really strange when music stores only stock the standard old school music equipment of guitar, bass, and drums. I guess they like to keep their profit to a minimum.thumperjack wrote:fuck guitarcenter. i remember a time when you went into a music shop and were greeted by fellow musicians. now you go into guitar center and have to fight off the fucking vultures. recently i was looking at buying a used padKontrol from the Baton Rouge location, and the fucker has the gall to tell me "oh, we can't sell you a used one when we have new ones in stock."beats me wrote:Isn't it scary how easy that was to determine.Librado wrote:was it guitarcenter?![]()
