Vista Optimization with LIVE

Anybody using LIVE and VISTA?
please post any optimization tips here!
im sure it will help a lot of people (including myself)

a few tips...

1 - Back up stuff

2 - Format drive

3 - Install Windows XP Pro

everybody cliams XP is Better than Vista but im not seeing it...When I had XP installed Live was slow as hell and the CPU was always bouncing up ito the 70%-100% Since ive formated my drive and installed Vista, Live's CPU rarely hits 30%.
SO WHATS YOUR EXPLINATION FOR THAT?

By the way...if you really wanted to give me a "joke" tip, you should have said
1. Throw my PC in the trash
2. Go get a MAC

I'm sorry but every one of your posts I've read has been fucking retarded. We get it, your Vista experience sucked and you prefer XP. Awesome. Not everyone is going to have that same experience - mine works flawlessly.

aburgener.. cleary as stated in your post your using Vista, as am I. Live is performing great with it, but I wanted to see what other people have done (tweaks, regedits, ect) to make performance even faster. Anything you can tip me off on?

vista's been giving me the shits a bit

I really like a lot of it but I find it starts choking up after a bit

I think the ram minimum is also 2GB and not 1

I have found some tweak sites but dont have them to hand - but to be honest I got them all from about 30 seconds with google

First thing is to go back to XP.

Then turn off all the extra stuff running in the back ground. I find using 16 color from the graphics card helped. I then turned off all the little start up stuff. Then I cleared out the other programs that I was not using. Do a small upgrade in RAM also.

it is awesum, but it dont work great in live (Live's fault not FXpansion), works awesum in logic and sonar. Id suggest u try b4 u buy - u can't beat the sample library 4 it, and u get more from the net too once u r registered
