Question for you Reason dudes
Question for you Reason dudes
before I splash for reason,
1. theres no way to get midi in/out of reason besides export/import?
2.how do you sample based beatmakers use reason without any slicing chopping editing instruments in reason?
3. how are you all using reason in conjunction with Live, it would be great if reasons regroove could swing live clips

You can route MIDI in through Live, you can use the 'Hardware' interface to route to different instruments in Reason by MIDI channel

Recycle

Only if you export MIDI, or just rewire it, only got R4 last weekend, I use reason as an instrument rack. Still do some of my beats in there too, that'll all change with L7 drumracks though

That really has nothing to do with the question, I'm afraid.XL Foley wrote:That's basically what I wrote in my reply to your thread ritchie, you can rewire but you cannot use rewire to apply Reason internal effects to sounds coming from Live itself because you can only pipe the midi from Live into Reason but no audio.

The reason why ReGroove wouldn't work here is that it only works on the MIDI tracks in Reason's sequencer, and not on MIDI coming into Reason.

this seems cool. Thank you for the link. I's love to hear some real street credability feedback on it. I will be keeping an eye out.jb61264 wrote:You might want to check out these guys if you interested in using Reason for live performances

You're dead on of course, not having used the ReGroove before (didn't make the switch to R4 so far) I forgot the midi nature of it but the general principle is the same: Reason tools manipulate stuff from within Reason only.ewistrand wrote:That really has nothing to do with the question, I'm afraid.XL Foley wrote:That's basically what I wrote in my reply to your thread ritchie, you can rewire but you cannot use rewire to apply Reason internal effects to sounds coming from Live itself because you can only pipe the midi from Live into Reason but no audio.
