Choppy sound

Live 4.0.1 demo has choppy sound. Both playing arrangements and previews from the file browser have really choppy output. The CPU load meter shows it using about 25%, but the Apple Activity Viewer shows it using over 50%. I'm using built in audio and running a 1.33GHz 12" PowerBook with 768MB RAM. This should be more than enough to use Live, as Live 3.0 ran fine on my old iBook G3 800 640MB RAM.
