Anyone know of a good synth sample library?
Anyone know of a good synth sample library?
Ok, Live 4 is amazing. I just want to use the Simpler synth but I'm short on synth samples. Anyone know where I can go to load up on sounds?
The best, best songs are utterly forgettable.

Checkout THIS POST for a great deal on Sonik Synth 1.
A brief summary though:
As some of you may know, SR and IK are coming out with Sonik Synth 2 next month. It will replace Sonic Synth 1. However, we still have a limited quantity of Sonic Synth 1 discs and boxes in our warehouse (maybe 500 or less). It is a great collection of "synth workstation sounds" and actually when it is discontinued there are many sounds on it that will no longer be available at all!
In addition to that, OmniSynth will be replaced by OmniSynth 2.0 as well. There are sounds on OmniSynth 1 that will also not be available anymore when this happens next month.
This group buy includes:
Sonic Synth 1 Discs 1-3
Sonic Synth Bonus Disc 4
OmniSynth 1
SampleTank 2 LE
One choice* of the following extra SR libraries:
Acoustic Drums, Piano Collection, Symphony Strings, Guitar Collection or Bass Collection
*If you already own SampleTank 2 XL you can opt to choose another SR library of these 5 instead of receiving the SampleTank 2 LE from this bundle. Yet another library may be chosen if the group exceeds 299 people as noted below.
The new even lower prices:
$189. for 1-20 people
$179. for 21-40 people
$169. for 41-60 people
$159. for 61-80 people
$149. for 81-99 people
$139. for 100-199 people
$109. for 200-299 people
$89. + another extra library if 300-550 people.
Current number of the group: 132!
Current discount group price: $139.
International shipping is FREE.
To be clear, anyone who has joined and joins now can buy the entire bundle (originally over $400 value) for at most $139. and possibly less depending on how many people join the group buy before the deadline of July 31, 2004.

Why not roll your own? These days software synths are macthing or even dare I say surpassing hardware synths. Of course with the exception of the TRUE ANALOG synths, otherwise if its any form of digital synth sounds your after then software can not be beat and are super cheap. So make your own SYNTH sounds and stay away from sample cds/downloads. Just think, other people will have the exact same sound as you (to hell with that). I have only bought one sample cd and that was Vintage Drum Machines from Power FX. And I have to say the more I use Live, Reaktor, and Absynth the less a sample someone eles made crosses my mind. No offense but I feel that sample cd's (of synth sounds and sound efx) are for suckers. The only samples that I would want are non synth sounds that I can not reproduce with my set-up. I can't recommend enough Reaktor and Absynth for lead, pads, bass, drums, weird efx, and just endless possibilities only limited to how much you are willing to work with these progams. I'm not flaming you I'm just throwing in my drunken 2cents rant. Fuck other peoples samples. Use a good software synth ala Native Instruments or download a free one like Buzz or something kvr.com or what ever it is and make your own sound library to use in Live4 simpler/impulse.
