Enough with the BETA testing already!

Post by Anubis » Mon Nov 12, 2007 6:11 am

You Beta geeks have been mucking around with this thing for weeks already. If I don't see this released by the end of the month... I'm getting Sonar 7, it's got a 64 bit engine also and alot of cool free synths and FX.

Have you been over to the beta forum at all?

I don't think you want Live 7 as it is currently. A lot of people are seeing crazy cpu spikes, sluggishness, drop outs, clicks 'n crackles and poor performance by the looks of things.

I personally would rather they iron everything out and get it running smoothly before throwing it out, rather than releasing a buggy .0 version like N.I. does..

Yes, be patient. Better to have a solid release. You don't want it how it is now. It's not like there is anything you can't do with what you already have.

I was under the impression that live 7 would take all the effort out of ever having to do any real work. Live 6 sucks cuase I need to actually still have some production skills :(

public beta would be nice.
they would get more bugreports, more to read, but more information about how much they screwed up when focusing on content, rather then perfomance.
yay, another rompler.

ill shutup now.
still a valid argument, mind you.

you don't want sonar. :-)

it's just not worth it... 64-bit with a bad interface, compared to an inspiring musical environment that is temporarily 32-bit.

just be patient for a month or two.

Suckses with sonar, at least one person that will stop whining.

Personally i don't care if live 7 is gonna be released next year, as long as it stable.

+1, but seeing that I am already a Sonar user, upgrading doesn't seem like such a bad idea. They already released a bug fix a few weeks ago, and it would really be nice to have side chaining in Sonar.

why don't you just have fun making music instead of waiting for the next big thing? There will always be beta testing for the next product but the name of the game is to enjoy now instead of the beta. my 2 cents.

in this case, ableton isnt fixing one bug, theyre fixing many.
instead of wasting time here, either do as X recommends, and make music, or read the bug forums and possibly participate with your input on the threads.

anyhting is better, then telling people on the ableton live forums that you are switching your daw to something else, it does nothing but annoy te people that are working on it and it might also rush them into releasing something half-finished due to public pressure.

i have alot of things to say about l7, but id rather have them ironing out the bugs then to have people complaining about it taking too long to release, them switching to other DAWs because they want something released despite of bugs..

stfu about your other DAWs and the comparison between t hat DAW and a beta.

theres a reason why its called beta.
yes, im annoyed and im drunk and i could propably make the whole fucking forum hate me if i wanted too, but my argument is still valid.
bye.

Same here. Upgrading to Sonar 7 Pro will only set me back $179. I've been to the beta forums and from what I'm seeing (feature wise)... I don't see what Ableton's been doing for the last year and a half :!:
Oh wait a minute, I forgot... they released Live 6 Lite

Then go on, would you!? If your gonna use Sonar, just do it! Have you gotten your beta and helped squash bugs? Have you actually used the beta or just read the forum and imagined what they've been doing? The beta forum only focuses on the problems and leaves out the good. They've just expanded the beta pool. Why don't you get your hands dirty and see what the Abe's have been doing?

What you should do is send an e-mail to Ableton headquarters immediately. Because at the risk of losing you as their customer, I'm sure they will forego the needs of all their numerous other customers and end the beta phase immediately. So that they don't lose you as a customer.
