mbox stereo input not working

I"m using an mbox2 mini
Xp professional sp2

I loaded Live Lite 5.2 and the ASIO drivers for the mbox.
Input is setup for 1/2 stereo (I disabled mono input to try to resolve this problem)
Here is my problem:
When I record audio through mbox input 1, it only records mono in the left channel
When I record audio through the mbox input 2, it only records mono in the right channel.

How do I get a stereo input?
If this is not possible, can I at least copy the track and move it to the right channel?

Under the Audio tracks I/O (input section) select 1 or 2, It sounds like you have 1/2 selected.
