in response to the OP, the new ReMote SL Compact has something called a speed knob on it. this allows the user to hover the mouse pointer over any parameter and that parameter will be affected by the knob's movement. at least that's how i understand it. i don't have the Compact, i have the original SL 25.
i hope they can somehow add this kind of functionality as an update to the origianl SL series!
