Boards of Canada style and a remix

Post by downfader » Sun Nov 18, 2007 10:12 pm

I've done three new tracks this weekend. First up is Dangermouse, a weird experimental peice, cant really explain it. I was aiming for noise mixed with angular beats.

Secondly I accidentally created a Boards of Canada style of track in Udea Man Tarinn. I found some old soundfonts I'd assembled back on my old pc in 1999 and realised I could use a plugin called Paax to play them back. Its pretty basic but seems to work to my ears.

Lastly. Eventuality Remix is a remix of an old Logic track I did in 2003 I think. it was originally aimed at TV companies but i got nowhere. So I thought the vocoder would be cool to sample when I refound this track the otherday and began loading up chunks of this mix into 3 different Impulse instruments. I aldo loaded up a couple of Simplers with some single instruments I'd recorded of the original track.

Anyway, enough back story babble, you can find them all in my Three Travellers link below.

Angular beats? I just got done listening to Dangermouse, its slow strange and defintely at an angle. I like the sound though, the noise was nicely used. Was this all done with ableton? or any hardware.

Hi there! The beats were all done inside Live 6 via loading up my own samples (varioius sources that had gone through things like compression and even a sherman filterbank). For noise I used the V Station and something called a FabOne I think. I've also used a free drum synth that came with a magazine iirc. :D
