How can I record Midi Input in Session View for a whole Live

Post by mag38 » Wed Nov 21, 2007 1:55 am

Hey Live users,

I use a Midi Keyboard to control several Effects like Atillery or Reaktor in Session View. I made some Midi channels (with Midi Keyboard Input and Monitor "In") and route their Out to my Audio FX Channels. All is working great I can control my FX via the Keyboard, but the Problem is my midi Signal (from Keyboard) do not get recorded, because the Midi channels are at Monitor "In" - otherweise, they won't work.
I would like to records my Keyboards tweaks ...

Anybody an idea/solution ???

Merci

you can't record automation in session view, only arrange view.

As Tone said you can only record automation in arrangement view.

Please post this feature request in the Wishlist forum to add to the many numbers of users requesting this.

Note though that you can indeed copy the automation from the arrangement view and paste it in the clip as a clip envelope.

I think you misunderstood me. I don't care, where the automation gets recorded, the problem is, that "Monitor In" get's not recorded

oh, so you make a midi track (call it track 1) and sent that track's output somewhere else (track 2) but track 2 doesn't record automation?

set track 2 to the same input.

My Live set is in Session view, and I want to record the "automation" of the incoming "MidiKore" Data (Key and Controller Data).
I can record all other Midi Controlling, but not this one, because it looks like Live doesn't record "Monitor In" Midi.

Anybody a workaround for this ?

ok, finally got a solution by myself:

If I switch my Midi Channels to Monitor: "Auto" activate the red Recording Button of one/several Midi Channels my Automation gets recorded when I press the Master Record Button!

Fabulous, that's all I wanted :D
