Simpler and Impulse presets missing!

Post by jimmyalba » Wed Jul 28, 2004 7:00 am

I downloaded Live4 a few days ago and have just discovered that there are still only 2 presets for simpler and impulse. I'm waiting on the boxed version arriving and want to know if I can simply install Live4 again from the CD using the unlock key I downloadedfor my original version.

Mine has only 2 presets as well. I downloaded the upgrade rather than buying the boxed version.

Can we get any more?

Yes, I downloaded the upgrade and you could choose a larger file with the extra sounds and files for all the simpler and impulse preset. It was about 100 mb I think. Try going to download section again and search for the option, it´s there.

Just downloaded the 100 meg version on a 56k modem!!

If you have broadband it's probably worth it but apart from some nice impulse kits and simpler waveforms there's not much in the bag really.

My curiosity cost me about 6 hours of download time :o

What you do get is good quality though, so I guess it's all a matter of personal preference.

I think the simpler and impulse sounds are only a tiny portion of that 100 mb. They use tiny waves. The most of the 100mb goes for the shitty demostrations (pop, hip-hop, r´n´b demos...) I think

Yes, they're pure cheese

I don't know why they don't get some serious artists to do a few demos using just a handfull of samples, there are so many places you can go stylewise using only a few sounds.

It'd be a fun idea to have a sort of contest using only the new included samples, NOT the power fx disk cos that'd leave out people who just upgraded by download (like me  )

Then Ableton could pick several of the best examples and bundle just the als files as demos.

In fact I think I'm gonna post this up in the wishlist forum, it might be a laugh.
