how can i type in second values (instead of ms)in operator

hi, how can you type in second values instead of ms for things like velocity and envelope settings etc in operator, when i type it in it automatically inserts it as ms (milliseconds), so i have to adjust it on the touchpad instead which is reet fiddly sometimes. looked in the manual and googled it but cant find an answer. im using a macbook if that makes any difference.

multiply the value by a 1000?

1000ms = 1s
