Hi,

What is Ableton's policy on fixing bugs in previous versions of Live?

I use Live 4 and dont see myself upgrading just yet.

No, Sampler was for Live 6 onwards. And AFAIK, it was never intented to be compatible with previous versions. You're lucky you got it to work at all with Live 4. How did you do that?!

Are you sure you don't mean Simpler?

The license of live removes them from responsibility associated with hardware or other software failure, IIRC.
Did this bug ever get fixed? Was it just left in there?
Well, if you're still seeing it, then it's still in there. :P
It seems odd that such a simple task of changing a filter type would cause such a thing to happen. Its simply dangerous. That bug should not of been let out the door in the first place.
Did you ever report this bug to ableton (up until now, that is). If not, then it's really your own fault for not helping them to fix it.

As far as Ableton's "policy" goes, I have only known them to release updates for older versions of live once; 5.2.2 was released while 6.0 was just made public, I believe. I know that it's frustrating, and believe me, I'm still using Live 5 on some of my machines and have some unsolved bugs that I have to deal with.... but at the same time, it's important to realize that Ableton is a small company, and they'd never make any progress if they needed to care after the old versions forever.

Hi,

I understand development must move on to the next Version, its just a pity 'that' particular bug remained. Cos its a beauty! I did post previosuly about it -

And so did claudek -

I dont mind the occasional small bug, that bug can take a few hours off your life when you forget about it and it creeps up and bites you on the ass.

C'est la vie

a Live 4 bug fix??

4??

not 7, not 6, not 5, but 4??!!

don't hold your breath. with their past record I can see a few Live 6 releases after the Live 7 release. be glad it took you 3 years to find the bug. you know what the bug is, just don't do that.
