S 1959 EVISCERATES FREE SPEECH, and empowers the government to declare ANYTHING they deem an "extremist belief system" to instantly make you a 'terrorist' and resulting in stripping of US citizenship, torture, and/or execution, with no habeas corpus rights, no ability to challenge even in the US Supreme Court.

This surely is unconstitutional. How the Supremes could enforce this would be beyond any logic whatsoever.

Okay, i read the bill, albeit briefly. While I wouldn't go so far as to say its over, if the bill passes it would be pretty close. However, I couldn't find any mention in the bill regarding insulation for judicial review. I'll read it over carefully tomorrow though.

I highly encourage people to start taking notice, if they haven't already. In a sense, its the creation of the ministry of peace from 1984. Scary.

Without going into fear mode, my heart is heavy tonight. They CANNOT do this. This means that all truth-seeking internet sites, or anyone questioning the coverup of major crimes like the collpase of the towers, the upcoming financial scandals, or the whatever crime of the day, is a terrorist. If you even question WTC building 7, and more and more people are aware that something smells rotten around 9/11, and if there ever came a time or need for something as awful as civil war or even simply organizing protests, then if you involve yourself, you are a terrorist. You are a violent threat to the US Govt.

I don't see how a motown group from the 60's could enforce anything but what do I know, you americans are crazy.

And surely if there's a *need* for civil war as you put it, then that's the definition of a terrorist isn't it?

And as far as the rest of us are concerned, the US Govt is a violent threat to the rest of the world.

This is absurd! AS everything that comes from the US Gov... or at least what they let us know, in the rest of the world.. Anyway, that's sick just even thinking about it... and making war everywhere... sick, sick...

Every time I complain about Italian Gov. (that believe me, here, everything have NO SENSE!!!) I just look to what US Gov. is doing, and feel just a little bit better...

Expanding to all US airports, land, sea, and border crossings by the end of 2008.

I have to give a left and right index print and a digital photo just to transit through LAX as it is.

This feels like entering a police state, and now its going to get worse. I really feel for you guys in the USA.

RELAX, it'll NEVER make it out of committee. I have a hard time believing that ANY legislation put forth by Susan Collins would actually be anti- terrorist. Carl Levin would never let his friend Osama bin Laden down, he'll kill it in committee.

well, this particular bill shouldn't pass. Susan Collins (R-ME) is the ONLY cosponsor- so that is good. Bills must be "read" to the chamber, then they go to the appropriate committee. This one was sent August 2nd, 2007, to the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. Almost all bills that get sent to committee never make it out alive.

RFID chips in passports, registration stickers, the REAL ID is on it's way, there are plenty of other things to keep us concerned.
