having trouble with sound or possibly playing a LIVE SET

Hello all,

I am new to using Ableton and I was having trouble with getting the sound to work. I was looking forward to try and Remix the NIN sets that came out for fun but I am having trouble with it.

I got to FILE and OPEN SET and select the set I wan to try and remix, but when I try to hit the PLAY arrow in the top middle I get no sound and when I try to hit the MASTER START play arrow I don't get any sound at all.

Is there something I have not done in order to get the sound to play or is it something with the LIVE SET I downloaded that is messing up?

I checked all my cables and everything is plugged in and I get sound when playing music with iTunes/Zune/Windows Media Player.

i haven't used those sets so i can't help with that, but you might need to check you have the correct soundcard and outputs enabled under the preferences. have a look at section 2.2 of the manual as it'll start you in the right direction.

oddly enough something was apparently screwed up. I had close the application about an hour ago and then just opened it back up and in the preferences section it actually would let me change audio options. for some reason earlier it didn't have any of the options for audio before, how odd. Oh well seems to be working now.
