Ha ha! New York is winning!
I haven't been to London since I was 14 years old, so I can't really say. The things that seem to be big pluses in London are that the music scene seems to be a good bit more open minded and welcoming. The younger kids in England seem to have much better taste than the youth in America. We barely have music magazines over here anymore. Dancing in NYC is actually pretty hard to find. Most of the time when you see a DJ, they are spinning to a crowded bar of people standing around drinking, not really noticing that a DJ is there at all. There are some terrible DJ fates here. Spinning at a clothing store. Spinning at a tea shop. It's sad.
But man, our town rules. The summers in NYC have more fun free events than you can possibly keep up with. And the girls. The girls.
Give up - rest of the world! We win.
That said, I'm planning on visiting Europe next summer and I can't wait to hang out in Berlin and Amsterdam. <3

London very much a love it or hate it kind of place.
It's pretty grimey, in both good and bad ways. Very busy, overcrowded and expensive.
It does have an amazing music scene for both live bands and djs. And lots of dancing in bars and clubs (which are often actually very friendly, if not always for entirely legal reasons). There's loads of good places to go out, most of which aren't in the west end (leicester sq, picadilly etc. should be avoided like the plague). Instead go for shoreditch, camden, clerkenwell, clapham, brixton, etc.
True, the weather is pretty poor a lot of the time, but summer in London is great (if and when it happens). People living in places where it's always hot will never get as excited when the sun comes out as they do here.
People here may seem rude and unfriendly. We don't often start up conversations with random people next to us on the tube. I like to think of it more as respecting each other's space than being miserable. It's a very crowded city. If everyone was talking to everyone else all the time, we'd go mad.
There's more musiums, galleries, historical sites, shows and events that I could count.
You'll need to pick where to live with care, though. Rent and house prices are ridiculous, so you probably won't be able live in a really nice area. You can also turn the corner on a nice pleasent street and find yourself in a rough ass estate. So it's worth doing your research.
