Audio problems

probably asked a million times but i'm having some audio problems. The audio keeps skipping every few seconds, The CPU load meter is at 1% and the hard disk isn't overloading. I have Fujitsu PC 2.00 GHz and 958MB Ram Driver type MME/Direct X

Any help would be really appreciated.

definitely use asio drivers for your soundcard

Any other tips? I've been trying the Live 7 beta (even up the non-beta pre-release 21) and I get glitches and crackles when I use the UI things (open piano roll, add effects etc). I've not had any issues with Live 6 while doing similar operations, has the minimum spec gone up or have I some settings messed up?
