7.0.1 Overdubbing MIDI erases existing notes

when recording MIDI in OVERDUB mode it erases bits or shortens the existing midi notes.

I also get frustrated with how overdubbing behaves.

afaik, notes should be replaced and/or shortened if the new overdub note falls on top of a pre-existing one

and yet I know there are some problems with how it behaves, because I once did a test, starting with a looping clip and just toggling the OVR button.. ended up with an unrecognizable frankenstein clip

I haven't tested it recently on Live 7 though, I must admit

No I mean this is a Live7.0.1 bug.

I understand what you mean, but this is different : when you play on top of a clip say to start playing at some point, the fact that you're recording erases the notes, ALL OF THEM

I do not have 7.0.1 yet, need to DL

in 7 b21 it does not erase them...
