7.0.1 note mapping bug using drum rack and remote SL

Post by adydub » Fri Nov 30, 2007 8:46 pm

there's a weird note mapping bug when using drum rack with a remote sl set up as a control surface.

notes c1 to g1 get incorrectly mapped:

c1 to d#1 become e1 to g1 and vice versa - e1-g1 become c1-d#1,

looking in the midi editor, the notes are also recorded incorrectly.

scrolling the pad bank slider causes even more strangeness - if i scroll up to c3-d#4 and play a c1, then this is turned into e3 in the drum rack track. playing an e3 also triggers and e3 (as expected!)

playing a c1:

fiddling with the control surface in's and out's preferences doesn't help. i either get correct mapping without any of the automap stuff working, or automap with the note mapping crazyness.

i've only come across this issue using drum racks, everything else seems to work fine. and no problems using an ms20 usb keyboard (using midi pitch plug to get down there), or the sl without automap.

Hi,

the Pads on the Remote SL send on the same MIDI Channel as the built-in Keyboard.

Currently, Live automaps the SL Pads to the Drum Rack which affects the MIDI Keyboard too.

To fix this problem, the MIDI Keyboard should send on another channel as the Pads.
