Live 6.0.10/7.0.1 dropouts on Vista32 (DuoCore related?)

Post by Moos » Fri Nov 30, 2007 10:49 pm

On my new laptop running Vista32 I get huge audio drop-outs every few seconds that seem to relate to CPU spikes (it's more like the machine freezes, really). With XP everything is running fine.
I use a Hercules FW16/12 firewire card, have disbaled the internal audio, did all the performance optimizations I could find, and use ASOI drivers. The asio4all ones seem to work better than the Hercules ones on Vista, but still.
I noticed that disabling the processor multicore makes Ableton behave much better (though with more CPU load of course). So I am wondering if this can be related to the combination Ableton with Vista + DuoCore with P965 chipset?
Any ideas?
