Post by Namihei » Sat Dec 01, 2007 2:15 am

I like Remote SL
but i don't like Automap.

mac only.

left LCD : standard MC LCD
right LCD : time and track status (mute, solo, arm)
MCESL uses Port3

Great neptunes ghost....
this is friggin awesome, i too think automap is poorly thought out, but alas I am a lowly PC user..
any idea when this will be bestowed upon windows?

hey. this is pretty awesome. the lcds on the remote sl work great with the software. only major issue i am having is i cant control the plugins/devices with the endless rotary v-pots.
they work on pan levels, but when i try to choose a plugin, the encoders dont do anything, and then when the parameters for the plugin are selected in the lcd, turning them does nothing.
if you can add a little more information, this will be perfect for me.

edit: figured out what was wrong. i had my remote sl setup as MCE and as Automap. it was making things kind of screwed up. when i just have the MCESl setup, everything works great. thanks for the hard work.....(only small gripe is i wish the faders had the track names/numbers above on the right lcd. dont know if this is possible to do)

1.select track
2.press "plug-ins" button
3.press "#" modifier+select (V-select)

lower buttons and encoders on left side
port 1 or 2 :Live's Midi mapping or Drum Pad
Port 3 : Mackie Control command

there are a lot of bugs.

The remote automap is great, but the mackie control offers much more contol. With Automap you can control track volumes and plugin parameters, as well as mute and record-arm, but with mackie control you also get scrubbing, solo tracks, you get a time display on the lcd, but the best part is alot of lives functions are assigned to buttons, like flipping from arrange to session view, undo, redo, cut and duplicate, and a bunch of other things i cant think of right now. You could do alot of this with remote sl + bomes midi translator, which is how i do it, but mackie control is all-in-one. So hopefully we will have this mackie control for remote sl on pc someday.

after playing with this program for a few days alls i can say is
THANK YOU!!!my sl has become twice as good. this mackie setup you have is intuitive, quick to learn, and much better than automap. the way you can control plugins and sendz with this is much better than automap.
and with the drumpads still available, im able to assign all the other little things that arent included (overdub, global quantize sizes, delete, copy, paste, etc.)

thanks man. nice to have someon offer for free such a useful tool

-Right LCD shows track name (or time) and Volume (or status )
