Do you render 16 or 24 Bit from your main Seq to Live?

Hi!

I´m usually rendering the different Parts of my Songs(made within Cubase) in 24bit for the use in Live.Is this necesarry or would also 16bit be enough, because the difference is mostly not audiable?!?

How do you handle this?

Thanks

Hi Ti-groove,

I'm using 24bit since I've bought a 24bit capable sound device (ca 3/4 year ago). Well, not audible, maybe, but if you build some channel strips, override your sound with fx I think it's always better to give the fx the most information to modulate the signal. Dunno if it's true (mostly individual feeling I think), but my ears were *shocked* after I've switched shortly back to 16bit/44Khz! If you have the HW, use it. It never could be wrong to use the max, and render just your "final" back to 44KHz/16bit.

regards,
