metric signature automation [topic closed - supported in 7]

Lots of music styles do not simply end up with the fixed metric signature. The ability to change it while playing/sequencing might be a breaking-out feature that will make the "interesting" music creation process much more painless then it is now. Of course, to model situations when different instruments are playing polyrithmics (drums 3/4, kick 4/4, for the most stupid example), maybe it'll be even better to assign the metric signature per audio/midi channel. I apologize if the issue is easily solveable - personally couldn't find how to do it in Ableton 6.

oh, hang on.

if you want individual clips to be at different signatures it is possible to set that. there's a little box in each clip. But it's not possible to automate the global sig in L6. The individual clips can have different signatures though

Just remember that the per-clip signature settings don't change how the clips actually play..

But they do change the display in that particular clip view. (i.e. change the numbers on the warp markers)
