I discovered some very sad new today folks
...sad for you Live 4 users that is!! Props Reason totally crushes, pulverizes, and destroys Live. End of story. There's probably a bit of annihilation going on in there too. While Live is generally targeted towards entry-level shmucks and DJ wanker non-musician types, in time, they'll learn of and pine for the full power that only a virtual rack system like Reason can deliver. The last statistic I believe I heard was that the mean time to outgrow Live is hovering at right around two weeks.

This is getting childish. I think it's great that Ableton found a market that nobody else has ventured into. A live performance tool. You have to admit, nobody else has created such a thourough product for live performances.
MacBook Pro (MacOS 13.0.1) i9 Processor, 32gb RAM, 4tb SSD
(STUDIO I/O) MOTU UltraLite mk5 (w/ADA8200), (LIVE I/O) Behringer X Air XR18
Ableton Live Suite 11 (Live performances), Studio One 5 (Studio Stem Creation)

To me there is nothing like a multiface + Reason + Live
Using Reason or Live just by themselves would be like going to a party straight.
Reason does NOT do a lot of stuff Live does.
Before Live came along I was almost considering writing my own software
to handle this stuff as Reason simply does not do it all and never will.

hehe - big extra large LOL ..
in every "a bit better than just normal" musician ears there occurs a signal, when there will be played a reason track to it. *very large smile* - every reason soundtrack sounds the same, and makes it compatible, easylistening, without any claim. just the same as hundreds others.. it's about the "in these times" lame reason instruments.. always sounding in the same style.. it's boring.. ableton's haven't had own instruments, they have to use creativity - thats the difference between reason and live. one needs cpu, the other one (live) needs creativity.. and we all doesn't need any proove for it
so, I'm giving just a big laugh to all, whose meaning reason is a tool of creativity *large lol*
reason is a tool for lazy fools, without any wish to not be as thousand others..
/my opinion as always..

Anyone on these boards who is bashing Reason obviously has no idea what they are doing when it comes to sounds, Sound design and/or building Sounds.
You should just realistically say "I like that other apps build the sounds for me." and don't dig any deeper into your ignorance. Reason is a tool geared towards people who are used to using hardware and are accustomed to tweaking or building their own sounds. Most of the sounds that come with Reason are intended to be the building blocks which is the reason a lot of them sound bland. With other soft synths and samplers all the reverb, delays, chorus, EQ'ing is already done for you which is why they sound fuller. If you were to take any of those 'full' sounds and reduce or turn off the effects you would be back to the source (Reasons sound) Therefore any armature of sound design who picks up Reason will simply sound dull.
Reason is not right for everyone. Some people are much better with Pre-built completed sounds. Once you understand that, then you will have a better understanding of the true power of Reason.
Aside from these last ten, creatively deficient years, It use to be Taboo to use the same sounds everybody else uses. Unfortunately because of non creative fools (this means a lot of YOU!), Reason (propellerheads) may also feel forced into making Reason more mainstream like Live has done.
