Midi out???
Midi out???
Hi, I have tried to send midi out to a andromeda keyboard, but not very sucsesfully! I have serached through ableton for the option.
the set up is ableton - usb - oxygen - midi cable - andromeda but nothing!
I can export the MIDI to a file, go through qubase sx, record as audio and bring back into ableton but that seems like longwinded a bunch of arse way of doing it.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Midi out???
OK now I am spun out, as per above post, I have been back into the studio, sent MIDI to USB keystation which is in turn connected to the Andromeda - It Still ownt trigger the keyboard, the oxygen will on its own sending the sounds through the desk - and I can record the midi notes in ableton - I would really appreciate your help - I am back in tommorrow.Don Don wrote:Hi, I have tried to send midi out to a andromeda keyboard, but not very sucsesfully! In the options go to MIDI-Sync. There the MIDI inputs and outputs are listed. Each input and each output has three switches: track, sync and remote. Search for the output which reads oxygen or keystation or something similar. There the track switch must be on.
Then go to a midi track without an instrument plugin, set its midi to oxygen, keystation or similar and the channel to the channel the Andromeda is set to read. Play the oxygen keyboard.
Btw: Just for curiosity's sake: Why don't you sell your crappy oxygen and play the beautiful Andromeda keyboard itself?

Sorry I didn't realize you're a pro already. I thought you are new to MIDI stuff in general. The Oxygen is of course not crappy at all, but rather very handy if you don't want to carry the heavy and pricy Andromeda with you all the time. In fact I didn't manage to get my hands on an Andromeda until today and I'm a little bit jealous.
O. K. back to the topic: Did the mentioned options help?

No not a pro! Just into music production as a hobbie in a big way not the technical side of it as you can tell.joewes wrote:Sorry I didn't realize you're a pro already. No, I still cant use the andromeda or any of the other keyboards as sound modules from midi in live, have set everything in midi sync to on, control surface - USB keystation - input - USB keystation - Output - USB keystation. Yet nothing!
Thanks yorg,
Luke

What if?
Is the problem that the oxygen doesn't pass the midi along to the andromeda? can you remove the oxygen from the chain and get the andromeda to play?
or is live not sending the midi signal?
If you could work this out you would at least halve the problem.
