i have 2 gigs in brazil the first week of September. They requested Live+DJ, and since its an Album promotion tour, i couldn't decline.drush wrote: speaking of, why all simultaneously? you're now moving back and forth from FS sets to ableton on the fly?
and didn't you just sell a pc lap last year to get the 12" pb?
Tried it simultaneously on the G4 867 but since FS drivers for Panther are absolute crap and there's no support on the horizon, i've been running FS on a Jaguar Partition for the last 6 months. Since jaguar has far less altivec optimizations in the GUI... running FS and Live simultaneously resulted in the poorest screen redraws, and audio glitching at anything below 20ms output latency. A couple of times the cpu demand through FS totally off.
on the Athlon64 this works flawlessly thanks to the 1600mhz FSB. and the wider screen helps for the live multitasking.
yea i sold a pc laptop last year, but not to buy a mac.
do i need your permission for my personal finances now?
were you planning on balancing my checkbook?
Hi adamJay, how is your expirience with Live 4 and the rest of audio apps on PC laptop so far , performance wice as well as stability-reliability wice, i am also conciedering on geetting an extra PC laptop for using live with Traktor DJ Studio, Live and NI Elektric Piano+NI intakt+ NI Kontakt, next to my good old but very tired G3 Powerbook 'Pismo' but a bit worried since the ongoing virus and trojan horses attacks on my old PC PentiumIII 450 that i use for internet only....

P.S. PC or MAc doesn't matter as long as it serves the creative purpouse , so u did great by going for what you felt like going- the final result what count, not the tools we use!

last time i saw you perform it was on a pc. then b/c of this site i knew you had the 867.AdamJay wrote:yea i sold a pc laptop last year, but not to buy a mac.

so i was just curious, because i really enjoy your work. which makes what you use all the more interesting.
guess that doesn't preclude you from being a jackass however.

great, though the athlon 64 seems better to me for multitasking.milka wrote:Hi adamJay, how is your expirience with Live 4 and the rest of audio apps on PC laptop so far , performance wice as well as stability-reliability wice, i am also conciedering on geetting an extra PC laptop for using live with Traktor DJ Studio, Live and NI Elektric Piano+NI intakt+ NI Kontakt, next to my good old but very tired G3 Powerbook 'Pismo' but a bit worried since the ongoing virus and trojan horses attacks on my old PC PentiumIII 450 that i use for internet only....

as far as being worried about viruses... this has been discussed in other threads. use Mozilla and never Internet Explorer (this will practically kill spyware) , only go to trusted sites, and there are some good anti-virus apps out there like AVG. PCs aren't as good out of the box, and i do prefer OSX. but for the power/cost ratio you get on the PC side for putting just a little more time into making sure your system is reliable, its worth it.

sorry bro, i did not mean to come off like a dick to you. that was a knee-jerk reaction from me feeling like i was getting the 3rd degree for switching platforms. no hard feelings.drush wrote:last time i saw you perform it was on a pc. then b/c of this site i knew you had the 867.AdamJay wrote:yea i sold a pc laptop last year, but not to buy a mac.
