exporting sets?

Post by jakt » Sat Dec 01, 2007 5:31 am

anyone know how to export full project sets? ie - samples, midi, song session arrangement?

a friend of mine that i work on music with finally got with ableton, and i'm not sire how to export a folder with all the data in it.

we used FLS in the past, and just made "zipped loop packages" that containd all of the song data. i've been up one side of google, down the other, i RTFM, then i RTFM again, and i've searched these forums for about an hour now.

can anyone tell me how this is done in ABLE6?

cheers, i appreciate the help...

I have a similar problem, but may have the solution for you...

In the Live manual, p68: 5.1.2 Packing Projects into Live Packs
  • File > Manage Files...
  • Click the "Manage Project" button
  • Expand "Packing" by clicking the triangular-shaped fold next to it
  • Click "Create Live Pack" and choose where to save it
  • Send it to your mate, he/she can then use File > Install Live Pack to get it up and running
As I said, I have a problem with this - I have no "Manage Project" button, instead it says "This Live set does not belong to a Project" where the button should be in the File Management window :?

Any help appreciated with this one!!

Sorted - just saved the .als to the Desktop and it created a new Project for me (as per the example in the manual - doh! )... then followed the instructions my previous post! :D

EDIT: Make sure you collect all the samples into the new project before packing (File > Collect and Save)

Happy tinkering jakt!
