Post by earthlinger » Mon Dec 03, 2007 10:30 am

When the crossgrade will be available for Ableton and AAS customers? Any clue?

The crossgrade offer is now available. We will give a 50% discount on individual Ableton instrument purchases to AAS customers who own the respective AAS original instrument.

To receive the discount, you will need to submit a scanned copy of your AAS receipt/order confirmation of the AAS instrument(s) to customercare@ableton.com:

* Analog requires proof of AAS Ultra Analog
* Electric requires proof of AAS Lounge Lizard
* Tension requires proof of AAS String Studio

Hope that answers your question.

I just talked with customer service. If I wanna upgrade to the Live Suite there is only % 10 discount. So it means almost nothing if you have AAS products and wanna upgrade to Live Suite. In other words it also means if you are buying Live Suite, the package discount is same as AAS crossgrade option. Anyway I also couldn't justify having Live version of AAS instruments, and still trying to justify upgrading to 7. I think this upgrade should be named as "6.5" :!:

so which is it then? 10% off on the suite for aas customers or not?

i have spent hundreds with aas (and ableton for that matter) over the last year and i refuse to pay the same as everyone else for the suite, when the instruments are essentially the same as the ones i've already spent almost $500 for. and offering discounts on the individual instruments is obviously not helpful when i'm trying to upgrade now and the suite would still be cheaper.

I already own Lounge Lizard and Tassman 4. There is no way I would buy upgrades to AAS instruments from Ableton. First of all you are locked to using them only in Live whereas getting the upgrades from AAS means using them in any DAW you care to own. Ableton in my opinion is using a terrible pricing policy.

It will of course backfire on them.

Hello all,

The Suite Upgrade prices are determined by the individual Ableton products you own, so it is tough to post a general rule here.

We understand your point, and will grant an additional discount to those of you who already own AAS instruments and want to upgrade to Ableton Suite.

Please send an e-mail with your proof of purchase for your AAS instruments (order confirmation, invoice,...) to customercare@ableton.com.

Please be patient, as Customer Care is very busy with the recent Live 7 release.

I bought Lounge Lizard and Tassman 4 years ago. I doubt I still have any receipt or proof of purchase anymore. So I guess that means tough luck then?

I just went thru the process of emailing back and forth for the crossgrade to find out it's only $50 less. I have to say it's disappointing. Not a big incentive to upgrade to suite for us AAS collection owners.
